I hope you are doing well. I would like to let you know that I had attended your recent concert in Toronto last week. I was totally delighted by your energetic and exceptional performance during the concert.
I am a huge fan of your singing. I am following your music since I was eight year old. I have great passion for signing as well and I always looking for the opportunity to meet you in person. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 8.0
The response fully addresses all parts of the task prompt in a natural and appropriate tone for a semi-formal letter. You successfully expressed your feelings about Mark's performance by stating, 'I was totally delighted by your energetic and exceptional performance.' You also provided clear details of your musical activities, mentioning that you have been following his music since you were eight and are 'currently enrolled in music class to enhance my music skills more.' Finally, you clearly explained how you would like him to help you by asking 'for suggestions and guidance for upgrading my singing career' and requesting a quick meeting. All bullet points are thoroughly covered and well developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.5
The letter demonstrates clear logical organization and progression throughout. Ideas are grouped logically into paragraphs, starting with a polite opening and the purpose of the letter, moving into personal musical background and requests for help, and concluding with a warm sign-off. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' are used appropriately to link ideas, and referencing is generally clear and effective. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct topics like your background, your requests, and your hope for a reply.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient and flexible range of vocabulary suited to a personal letter to a singer. Phrases like 'energetic and exceptional performance,' 'huge fan,' and 'enhance my music skills' communicate your message effectively. However, there are a few minor lexical and spelling inaccuracies, such as writing 'had attended' instead of 'attended,' 'signing' instead of 'singing,' and 'Futhermore' with a missing letter. Additionally, 'following your advices' contains an uncountable noun error, as 'advice' should not be pluralized.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The writing contains a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'I would love if you could provide me some suggestions and guidance for upgrading my singing career.' There are some noticeable grammatical errors, such as 'I am following your music since I was eight year old' (which should use the present perfect continuous tense 'have been following' and plural 'years old') and 'I am exciting to hearing back from you' (which should be 'excited to hear'). Despite these errors, meaning is never impeded.
