Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the three bullet points required in the task, though the development is uneven. You successfully mention how you feel about the performance by stating that the outfit matched the vibes and that you enjoyed it a lot. You also touch upon your musical activities, such as singing and playing the guitar, and explain how you would like help by asking for advice on matching guitar tones and enhancing vocals. However, some ideas remain under-developed and limited, particularly the description of your musical background, which lacks specific detail. Furthermore, the letter ends abruptly mid-sentence, which leaves the task only partially completed. To reach a higher level, all bullet points need to be fully expanded with richer details, and the letter must be brought to a natural, complete close.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter demonstrates some basic organisation, opening with an appropriate salutation and moving logically through appreciation, background, and a request for help. However, there is no clear overall progression due to the complete lack of punctuation and paragraphing. The entire text flows as a single, continuous run-on sentence without periods or capital letters to separate thoughts. Cohesive devices are largely absent, relying instead on commas and lowercase conjunctions to link ideas. To improve, you must use clear paragraph breaks for different topics and employ standard punctuation so the reader can easily follow the logical flow of your ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task, featuring basic words and repetitive phrasing such as 'musical activities' and 'playing the guitar'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'practing' instead of practicing, 'fron' instead of for, and 'tries' instead of trying, which sometimes cause difficulty for the reader. You also attempt less common expressions, but they contain inaccuracies. To achieve a higher score, you should expand your vocabulary range, use more precise musical terminology, and ensure correct spelling and word forms throughout the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies on a very limited range of structures, mostly simple sentences connected loosely by commas. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that cause difficulty for the reader, most notably the complete absence of capitalisation and full stops. Additionally, there are tense and agreement issues, such as 'i had been practing' and 'some of the vocals does not goes', which demonstrate poor control over verb forms and subject-verb agreement. To improve in this area, you need to use a wider mix of structures, ensure correct verb tenses, and apply accurate sentence boundary punctuation.
