Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Vishal Dadlani,
Hope you are doing great !
I am writing this letter to inform you about your last concert which was held in ahmedabad on 13th july. I visited with my friends and we enjoyed with the full of energy. I like your voice and performance. I vividly remembered that, when you entered at the stage with the firework that was amazing.
As I have enrolled in one of the band in my town, where sometime I got a chance to compose and write the songs. I won the competition at the state level for the best lyrics writer. Moreover, I upload my music videos on social media.I have already listed down 2 or 3 songs that I would like to perform with you.
It would be pleasure to perform with you. Last but not the least, I would like to make an arrangement for another concert in my town and for that you just need to give me your avaibility.
I am eagrly waiting for your response.
Thanks,
Raaj

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you describe enjoying the concert and the singer’s energetic entrance, explain that you belong to a local band and write lyrics, and ask to perform together and arrange a concert. The state-level songwriting achievement and your social-media videos add relevant detail. This gives the letter a clear purpose and covers the task, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. For example, you say you have selected two or three songs without explaining what kind of help or collaboration you want with them. The request to arrange another concert is also quite broad. To strengthen the letter, specify whether you are seeking feedback, rehearsal, or a guest performance, and make the proposed next step clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall sequence: it opens with the concert, moves to your own musical activities, and ends with a request and sign-off. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Last but not the least” signal progression. However, some connections feel mechanical, and a few references are not fully clear. For instance, “for that you just need to give me your avaibility” does not explain precisely what arrangement you mean or what availability is needed. The opening paragraph also moves quickly from the concert date to your reaction. Use transitions that show the relationship between ideas more naturally, and make each request explicit so the reader can follow the progression without having to infer details.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the letter, including relevant expressions such as “compose,” “lyrics writer,” “state level,” and “perform.” Details like “full of energy” and “firework” help convey your reaction to the concert. There are also some inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, including “enjoyed with the full of energy,” “enrolled in one of the band,” and “give me your avaibility.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “eagrly” and “avaibility” are noticeable, although the intended meaning is generally recoverable. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your praise and request sound more fluent and appropriate for a personal letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the clause beginning “As I have enrolled…” and the sentence about arranging another concert. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, articles, and verb forms. For example, “I visited with my friends and we enjoyed with the full of energy” has an incomplete or incorrect structure, while “I vividly remembered that, when you entered at the stage” uses an awkward clause pattern and preposition. “It would be pleasure” also needs an article. Review how to form complete clauses and use articles and prepositions in common patterns. More consistently accurate sentences, alongside your attempts at longer structures, would improve control.
