Dear Karan,
I am writing this letter to express my feeling to your concert which I attend yesterday in Toronto.
This show is organized every year and number of participate came to performance here but your performance was on another level. Before your turn the enviournment was quite smooth but your entry was energetic.
I saw the best combination of rap song with amazing lights and that fire was supreb . I love to listen pop music and your singing was amazing and the best thing which i noticed that people were dancing more rather than other performances. your co-start name Sidhu was also brillent singer and the way hes was mixing hindi song with punjabi was on another level.
I was bit nervous because i came with my girlfriend and we both feeling shy but on your songs we left this world behind and enjoy with each other. If you got my letter please reply this to your fan.
Regards,
Harvinderpreet

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You clearly express admiration for the singer, describing his energetic entrance, the lights and fire, and the audience dancing. However, the task is only partially addressed: you do not give details of your own musical activities, and you do not explain how you would like the singer to help with them. Saying that you enjoy pop music is a preference, not an account of activities such as singing, playing an instrument, or performing. The closing request, “please reply this to your fan,” also does not specify the musical help you want. To address the task more fully, describe what you currently do musically and make a clear, practical request, such as asking for advice or a lesson.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter has a recognisable opening, a sequence of comments about the concert, and a closing, so the reader can follow the general topic. The details about the singer’s entrance, the performance, and your reaction are mostly presented in a sensible order. However, the response reads largely as one continuous block, and several ideas are joined without clear transitions. For example, the comments about the co-performer, your girlfriend, and your request for a reply move quickly from one point to another. Paragraphing the concert praise separately from your musical background and request would make the progression clearer. Use linking phrases to show how each detail relates to your purpose for writing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant descriptive language to convey enthusiasm, including “energetic,” “amazing lights,” and “on another level.” These choices help communicate your positive reaction, and the topic vocabulary is generally appropriate. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “amazing” and “on another level.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “enviournment,” “supreb,” “brillent,” and “co-start,” which can distract the reader. Aim for more precise descriptions of the music and performance, and check spelling carefully. For instance, you could describe the singer’s stage presence, vocal control, or the way the arrangement blended musical styles.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “which I attend yesterday” instead of a past-tense form, “number of participate came,” and “we both feeling shy.” The sentence beginning “I love to listen pop music” also needs a more accurate grammatical pattern, while the long sentence about the performance combines several ideas without reliable punctuation. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise accurate past-tense narration and build longer sentences around one clear main clause, checking agreement and articles as you revise.
