Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you praise the singer’s performance, describe your singing classes and practice with a friend, and ask for advice to improve your voice and skills. The specific concert location and your enthusiasm make the letter personal and relevant. The request for help is clear, but it could be developed more fully by explaining what kind of support you hope for—for example, a brief lesson, feedback on a recording, or advice about choosing songs. The opening and closing are polite, although “Dear Sir” is rather formal for writing to a singer whose work you admire. More detail and a warmer, more consistent tone would strengthen the letter further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: you begin with your reaction to the concert, move to your own musical activities, and finish with a request and closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and linking phrases such as “First of all” and “Furthermore” signal the progression. Some connections are less smooth, however. “Which makes me feel inspired and motivated” is a sentence fragment, and the repeated use of “also” in the paragraph about rehearsing and recording makes the sequence feel mechanical. The final request and the sentence about waiting for a reply repeat similar ideas. Use more varied links and combine closely related points to make the flow more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate your admiration and musical interests, including “live performance,” “singing classes,” “recording,” and “singing skills.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, as in “appriciate,” “hobbie,” “heared,” “rehers,” and “replay.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “I have singing as my hobby” and “take a note from one of your fan” do not express your meaning idiomatically. The range is adequate for this familiar topic, but vocabulary is often basic and repeated, particularly “improve” and “help.” Learn accurate forms and collocations, and use more specific language when describing the support you want.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, and the reader can generally understand your message. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. For example, “I am huge fan” needs an article, while “one of my favourite singer” requires a plural noun. “I got chance to saw” combines an incorrect verb form with a missing article; write “I got the chance to see.” The clause “Which makes me feel inspired and motivated” is incomplete when used as a separate sentence. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, as in “i am waiting.” Practise checking each sentence for a complete subject and verb, and review agreement and verb patterns.
