Dear John,
I hope you are doing well, I am writing this letter to expess my emotions while I atteneded your concert last week in Dubai. I came with my girl friend, Me and my girl friend Dhriti enjoyed your music. We connected with your music too much as it is representing our cluture.
I am also singer and composer. I usually perform in the clubs. Few months ago have released one album with my girlfriend, which got very popular named "You and me". I take inspiration from the Daljit Dosanch and your music is also inspired by him.
I am very impressed with your composing I want to learn how to compose a pop music. I am experimenting with new genres like Classical. I would be very greatful if you could help me with composing pop music.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you describe enjoying the concert and feeling connected to the music, explain that you sing and compose and have released an album, and ask John to help you learn pop composition. The details about performing in clubs and your album make the letter relevant. However, the request for help is brief, and the musical activities could be developed further—for example, you could explain what you currently compose or what kind of guidance you need. The response is also one word below the required minimum, so it does not fully meet the task’s length instruction. A little more specific detail would make the purpose and request more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with your reaction to the concert, moves to your musical background, and ends with a request and an appropriate sign-off. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “I am also” and “I look forward to” support the progression. The sequence is generally logical, though some links between ideas are abrupt: the reference to Daljit Dosanch appears without explaining the connection, and the shift from your album to your inspiration could be smoother. The opening also joins several ideas in one long sentence. Clearer transitions and more precise referencing would make the cohesion more consistently natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “performance,” “composer,” “album,” “inspiration,” and “genres.” These choices communicate your musical background and your request clearly. There are, however, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “expess,” “atteneded,” “cluture,” and “greatful,” which reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “connected with your music too much” and “learn how to compose a pop music.” Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language for describing your reaction and the specific help you want would strengthen the letter’s range and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and some attempts at more complex sentences, and the main message remains understandable. However, several grammatical errors appear. The opening joins two independent clauses with a comma: “I hope you are doing well, I am writing…”; use a full stop or a linking word. “Me and my girl friend” has incorrect pronoun case and word order, while “Few months ago have released” is missing a clear subject and has an incomplete verb construction. The phrase “a pop music” also has an article problem. Review sentence boundaries, subject–verb structure, and articles, while keeping the useful variety of sentence forms you attempt.
